According to sources Eddie sent Mel at letter that reads in part: “You have been engaging in a pattern of disseminating disparaging, negative and defamatory statements about Mr. Murphy, portraying him in a false and outrageous light in order to pressure Mr. Muprhy to capitulate to your highly unreasonable extortionate demands. We demand that you immediately cease and desist from this wrongful conduct.” The alleged letter goes on to say, "in a calculated effort to smear his reputation, thereby hoping to induce him to accede to outrageous extortionate demands if he wants you to stop your dissemination of negative statements." The letter also claims, “On Ms. Brown’s behalf, Ms. Allred has demanded that [Eddie] my client not only pay very substantial child support, but that he also buy a $9 million house in Malibu and pay for all associated expenses for Ms. Brown to reside there for free for the next 18 years.” The letter also claims the Eddie was told if these demands were met everybody would, "shut up".

I am glad he did something...I am tired of seeing her mug plastered everywhere. Are we supposed to take pity because this has-been got knocked up and is trying to take Eddie to the cleaners? Her child will hate her when she gets older and Daddy sends a check but won't have anything to do with them. How did those two hook up anyway?

Despite canceling their nuptials scheduled to occur earlier this week, the on-again, off-again wedding of Usher and his pregnant fiancee was finally on -- and held quietly Friday, sources told Stella's Column late Friday night.
The multiplatinum singer married his longtime girlfriend, Tameka Foster, who is several years older than he, during a private ceremony in his lawyer's office in Atlanta on Friday, sources said.

Among those present was Usher's mother, Jonetta Patton, who, it has been widely reported, staunchly disapproved of the marriage. Foster was reportedly largely responsible for Usher firing his mom as his manager last May.

VING RHAMES DOGS KILL MAN

In a tragic story, a 40-year-old worker living on Ving Rhames’ property was attacked and died at the hands of his guard dogs. The caretaker’s body was found outside the gates of the actor’s Brentwood mansion.

At 7:15am yesterday, police found the worker’s body on Rhame’s front lawn. According to officials, he had “numerous punctures from bites on his arms, legs and body,” that may have caused his death.

R.KELLY TRIAL DATE SEPT. 12

CHICAGO -- R. Kelly will go on trial next month, more than five years after he was charged with child pornography.

Judge Vincent Gaughan has set a Sept. 17 date for the start of a jury trial, according to the Cook County state's attorney's office.

R&B singer R. Kelly's arrives with attorneys for a court appearance on child pornography charges on May 18, 2007, in Chicago. Kelly, whose real name is Robert Kelly,is scheduled to go on Sept. 17, 2007, more than five years after the R&B singer was first charged in the case. The Chicago Sun-Times reported on its Web site that setting of the date followed a lengthy meeting Wednesday among the judge, the lead prosecutor, the R&B singer and his lawyers.

Kelly, who was born Robert Sylvester Kelly, has pleaded not guilty to 14 counts of child pornography. He was charged in 2002 and is accused of allegedly engaging in videotaped sex acts with an underage girl.

Kelly's attorneys haven't conceded that he is on the tape, saying his likeness may have been computer generated. They have also tried to raise doubts about the identity and age of the girl.

The case has been hit with delay after delay. Since being charged, Kelly has had six best-selling albums and three nationwide tours.

WHAT U TALKIN BOUT, OFFICER?!

PROVO, Utah (AP) - Former child star Gary Coleman was cited for disorderly conduct after witnesses said they saw him in a heated argument with a woman in a parking lot.

Coleman, 39, and the woman were in his vehicle discussing their relationship Friday night when two people saw him hit the steering wheel with his hands, Capt. Cliff Argyle said.

''Mr. Coleman was very excited and loud. ... At one point he exited his vehicle, waving his arms, yelling and screaming,'' Argyle said. ''Vehicles were unable to exit the parking lot because of Mr. Coleman's actions.''

He cooperated with officers who were called to the scene, Argyle said.

The disorderly conduct citation is a misdemeanor punishable by up to three months in jail and a $750 fine.

''What the city attorney proceeds with, I don't know,'' Argyle said. ''It could end up being an infraction'' similar to a traffic violation.

A number for Coleman could not be found Tuesday.

Coleman moved to Santaquin, about 55 miles south of Salt Lake City, in 2005, around the time he starred in ''Church Ball,'' a comedy based on basketball leagues formed by members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Coleman once fought a bitter legal battle with his parents over whether he was fit to handle his own affairs. In 1999, he pleaded no contest to disturbing the peace after he punched an autograph-seeker he claimed insulted him.

PARIS and NICOLE IN BLACKFACE

Some people are outraged that Paris and Nicole went in blackface in Sunday's episode of Simple Life Goes To Camp. Paris allegedly made racist comments late last year that she has yet live down. I watched this episode (I watch them all I LOOOVE this show!) and did not find the blackface offensive. First of all, Nicole is Black. Her biological father was Black.I think people seem to forget that. Also, the episode was about an acting seminar and they were in character.Do you think the show went too far?

What's going on with the Fugees reunion, or lack there of?
WYCLEF: I'm officially Paul McCartney from the Beatles now. If the Fugees wanna come back, and Lauryn wanna come back…you can't break the format. Don't come back and be like, I wanna produce a beat. That's like me saying I wanna sing an R&B vocal. When we was working on the album, I was like, [to Lauryn], You need to do this like this. [And] she says, How do you know what's relevant? I haven't heard anything from you in the past like three, four years? The minute she said that I was like, I gotta go back to working.

So what's ultimately holding you guys back?
Lauryn is straight up the problem, bro. She wants to be a producer. Don't come telling us how to chop up beats so you can get credit for it.

What makes you think she would take the credit?
We did a remix [with] Lauryn for John Legend, for the record How High. John Legend was saying our names. You know what she had [him] do? She was like, Take off Wyclef and Jerry's names. Because she wanted people to think that she was the one doing the beat…I'm a producer and I'm a beatmaker with my cousin Jerry Wonder, and I'm a writer. So she hasn’t made any of the beats she got credit for?
It's real simple if you did the beats, where are the beats? Show us one beat that you did. If you bring Clef to the studio, put an MP, put an SP, put a bunch of stuff, bring a bunch of cameras [and] say, Clef, do a beat in two minutes. The beats done! Bring Lauryn Hill in the studio with the same camera, say we give you three hours. Matter fact, fuck it, we'll give you a month do a beat. She can't put it together!

It's old news that Duane Martin and Tisha Campbell-Martin have split after 11 years of marriage. It has been rumored of them being swingers in Hollyweird, but Duane has finally come out of the closet. His soon-to-be ex-wife had this to say,"It was the biggest shock of

STAR JONES CONFIRMS WHAT WE ALREADY KNEW

In the next issue of Glamour magazine, Star Jones admits that she did have gastric or bariatric surgery. She says,"Even though I claimed to be just fine with my weight, I saw how other women [colleagues] were treated like the girlfriend, while I was treated like the good friend, she writes about her first job with NBC News in 1991. "To compensate for my insecurities, I spoke louder and ate more."

Awww, poor baby *major eye roll here*. Who hasn't at some time felt insecure? My beef with her is that she sat up there shouting that she was big and lovin it, and it was OK to be fat and all the while she was plotting to get skinny... Her endeavor to be healthy would have went over better if she didn't constantly deny how she lost the weight...I mean, who loses 100 pounds in 5 months without surgery?

Tameka Foster spoke yesterday..

"No one knows why we canceled the wedding, but I can tell you that all of the reasons that everyone is speculating and writing about are completely untrue," Foster told PEOPLE Monday, but she declined to reveal more about why the nuptials were called off.

Sources tell PEOPLE at issue were family matters (Usher's mother and former manager Jonetta Patton was against the wedding) and disagreements between the would-be-bride and groom over wedding details.

Foster, 37, who is now in Atlanta (as is Usher, 28) does address one rumor that spread on local radio stations and blogs – that following Saturday's canceled ceremony, she checked into a local hospital and went into pre-term labor.

"We had a scare," she says. "But, I am fine and the baby is fine." The couple announced in June that they were expecting their first child together, due this fall.

I refrained from posting on this issue because frankly, I could really give a pig's foot about Usher outside of his music. Musically, I have been anticipating a comeback, but this is not what I expected. The Chilli breakup sparked a great buzz for the Confessions album,but this latest fiasco is basically a curtain call for Usher's career as we know it. What do you think?

16 yr Old Beats Up 3 yr Old...Baby Dies

(CBS) CHICAGO Bond was set at $800,000 Tuesday for a 16-year-old boy charged with beating a 3-year-old girl to death out of anger that she had soiled her underwear.

As CBS 2's Rafael Romo reports, Eric Grey has been charged as an adult with first-degree murder in the beating death of Azuil Warren in the 4200 block of West Division Street in the West Humboldt Park neighborhood.

Family members said Azuil, who was nicknamed "Sugar," never regained consciousness. She died of her injuries at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Mt. Sinai Hospital.

"It's hard. I held her until she took her last breath," said Louise Owens, Azuil's grandmother. "She was in my arms until the end."

The beating took place in an apartment building Sunday evening after Grey was left to babysit his 11-year-old brother and his mother's boyfriend's two children – Azuil and her 6-year-old brother. Grey's mother was being driven to work by her boyfriend at the time.

Police say Grey got angry when 3-year-old Azuil Warren soiled her underwear and began beating her with a leather belt and then an aluminum broomstick, but police say that was not enough.

"When that beating stopped, the victim began throwing up all over the house," said Harrison Area Sgt. Steven Konow. The offender then became further enraged and threw her on the floor and began to beat her with his fists until she fell into unconsciousness."

Grey is being held at the Cook County Jail, and has been charged as an adult with first-degree murder.

Konow said Grey called 911 after the beating. He says he later confessed to the beating in the presence of his mother, at one point saying he was sorry.

"He wasn't in custody until he basically confessed to detectives that he didn't mean to hurt her that bad," Konow said. "It was all stemming from the soiling of the underwear."

The toddler's 6-year-old brother was not harmed.

On Tuesday, family members were coping with the tragedy and trying to make sense of their terrible loss.

"What I want people to take from this is you have to watch your children and watch who's caring for your children," said Azuil's uncle, Brian Owens. "Quite possibly, she shouldn't have been left there anyway."

Azuil's family was making funeral arrangements Tuesday morning.

Illinois Department of Children and Family Services spokesman Kendall Marlowe said the agency is investigating Azuil's death, but have not had any prior contact with the family. He declined comment on whether the agency had taken any action regarding the other children in the home.

Grey's bond hearing began at noon in Violence Court (Br. 66) at the Criminal Courts Building at 26th and California. The outcome was not immediately available at 12:15 p.m.

July 25, 2007--I heard this on my local morning radio show and thought it was pretty interesting and PITIFUL at the same time. Apparently, some guy read an article in the newspaper (St.Louis Post-Dispatch) wanting movie extras for the sequel to Into The Blue. Basically he was to give $600 wired to the Movie Commission and fly to Canada for the shooting...Why would they shoot an ocean/beach movie in the cold Canadian water? Look for her to touch on the pregnancy rumors, her battles with her weight and drug addiction. Simple Life Goes To Camp is so dang funny, thanks to Nicole. That girl is off, but she cracks me up.

Etta James Hospitalized

The 69-year-old Grammy-winning, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee is admitted to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center due to complications following abdominal surgery she underwent in June. Our prayers are with you!

REALITY SHOW WRAP-UP

So far I have agreed with everyone that has been kicked off except the Asian guy in the first episode. I really thought that the whole Laurie Ann thing would have been more interesting, but it wasn't. Diddy powertripped as usual, but it seemed like he was finally being nice to the guys. He wanted them to rehearse the whole weekend, not just that one day. He was upset that she didn't get that done..Anywho,no love lost IMO. She did seem to try and take charge of other areas besides dancing, which was her area. Good luck on your reality show and album, YEAH RIGHT.
I didn't think I would like BB8 (Big Brother 8) for those that don't watch, but it is GOOD! Dick aka Evel reminds me of Kaysar in Season 6, not 7. The way he was just balls to the wall. It got him kicked out, but it was great TV! Either Dick will be around a really long time or he's outta there next week. Since I missed like the first 2 episodes, I haven't really gotten a feel for the whole "house". I do know that Nick is HOTT!!

Aww yeah, son! They're gangster now!! Apparently, Ja Rule and Lil Wayne were both arrested on the same night in NYC on weapons charges. Funny, this happened right before Ja's new single "Uh Oh" featuring...you guessed it,Lil Wayne, hits the airwaves. When Ja Rule was stopped (with expired registration PSSH!), he had a .40 caliber w/the serial numbers ground off...DIRTY!! Lil Wayne was found in possession of marijuana (half a pound!) that they were trying to flush down the tour bus toilet. He also had a .40 caliber in possession. Is that the handgun of choice these days?

Lil Lo Maintains Innocence?!

In an email to Billy Bush, host of Access Hollywood, Lohan writes, "I am innocent...did not do drugs they're not mine. I was almost hit by my assistant Taryn's mom I appreciate everyone giving me my privacy."

Lohan was arrested and released on bail early that morning in Santa Monica for driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license, and felony cocaine possession. The arrest occurred less than two weeks after she completed her second stint at a rehab facility.
